Yes it can be ..but it is still cheaper than not having any.

Dont lie to yourself and say you cant afford it ..because you cant afford to be without it.

Insurance companies carry your liability, unless you are Rockefeller and money is no option , shop around and get the best quote. keep in mind the best quote is not always the cheapest.

If you are going to be taking a vehicle out on the road you have a responsibility to yourself and other roadusers to be fully covered for all continginencies.

Given the way cars are made now , what could seem a small bingle can write off cars like a Matiz or Excel.and bikes arnt cheap to fix either.

The costs of spares plus labor can make a small scratch cost over a thousand $ to fix.

Your premium will be decided on what sort of bike you have, where you live , what experience you have had, you licence, previous offences and accidents.

If you are between 18 and 25 and are riding anything over about 250 cc be prepared to pay.

Some insurance companies can tailor packages to the sort of riding you do, ie only weekends or a 4000 mile limit per annum, but they are usually not that much cheaper. Some will let you pay monthly but will charge an admin fee for the priveledge.

What ever you do dont believe it will never happen to you because it most certainly will at some stage.

I pay roughly $260 every 6 months for full coverage 50/100/50 with a $500 deductible on a 2002 harley lowrider. It has 1450cc engine and I am 35 with a pretty good driving record. Maybe this will give you an idea of how much it will cost you. I was curious before I bought my bike too.

Depends on your age, where you live, your driving record and the type of bike you are trying to insure. If you're 18 trying to buy a Suzuki GSX-R, then it will be expensive. If your older and trying to buy a Harley, it should be cheaper. Many variables at play here.

Liability is usually cheaper than for a car, because the risk of you doing a lot of damage to someone else is small. Theft/Comp is usually cheaper than a car because bike usually cost less than cars.

As long as you're not tring to insure medial for driver/passenger, you'll usually find it cheaper than a car (about half).

Not usually but depends on who you are and what you are insuring. My 2000 BMW K1200LT (nice bike) was only $250 per year for full coverage.

I suggest dairyland or progressive. both have been very good for me

It is just like any insurance, it all depends on the bike, your driving record, age, etc.
