I saw a TV show that showed a restaurant with lots of windows and when the Magic Kingdom does the fireworks - this restaurant dims the lights inside the restaurant and they play the same music and you could watch the fireworks from inside the restaurant. I want to say that it's California Grill or Kitchen, but not sure.

Yes, the California Grill atop Disney's Contemporary Resort is a wonderful dinner location where you can view the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. My boyfriend and I dined there for our first time this past August and it was fantastic! The Restauant is located on the 15th floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort. There are windows all around, so you have a panoramic view of the Magic Kingdom Park. It's very beautiful! They dim the lights when the fireworks begin and turn on the speakers. The music and narration for Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is piped in live. When the fireworks are about to begin your waiter or waitress will let you know and will invite you to enjoy the fireworks outside on the top deck (roof) of the Resort. We were just finishing up our entrees when the fireworks began, so our waiter held our desserts until we returned to the table. The food at this restaurant it outstanding, as well as the service! It is one of my new favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World and I highly recommend it.

The California Grill's not the only wonderful restaurant that offers a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Try Narcoossee's or Citricos at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort. Wishes Nighttime Spectacular can also be viewed while dining at these locations. At EPCOT, dine at the Bistro de Paris at the France Pavilion or the Rose & Crown Pub at the United Kingdom Pavilion for views of the IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth fireworks display while dining.

* To correct the woman above, the dress code's not "Resort Casual." They would really prefer that you don't just wear your everyday clothing that you'd wear to the theme parks. Here's the dress code...

"Men: Dress slacks, jeans, trousers, or dress shorts, short or long-sleeved shirt with a collar required. Jackets are optional.
Ladies: Jeans, skirts, or dress shorts with blouse or sweater, or a dress required.
Not permitted in dining room: tank tops, swimming suits or swim suit cover ups, t-shirts, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing of any kind."

Hope I could help!

The California Grill does offer a great view of the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom, but I'm not sure that it's your best option. During the fireworks show, the California Grill will dim the lights and play the soundtrack to the show, even out on the observation deck, which is a great place to view the show from. However, California Grill isn't my favorite restaurant on property. The food isn't that great and it's expensive. Plus the last time I went with my wife, on our honeymoon, the restaurant was noisy and they seemed to have relaxed their dress code. I wore a nice suit, but a lot of people were wearing shorts and t-shirts. Plus you'll need to make reservations as soon as possible because the restaurant fills up fast.

My favorite place to view the fireworks from is at Narcoosee's. If you have a table facing the Magic Kingdom, you should be able to see it from your seat. However, there's also an observation deck the wraps around the restaurant facing the MK. Plus Narcoossee's is a great restaurant, probably my favorite. It's expensive, but the food is great and the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic evening.

Have fun!

There's a restaurant at the top of the Contemporary resort called California Grill -- I ate there and remember a direct view of the Magic Kingdom/Space Mountain at night. I'd imagine you could see fireworks very well from that vantage point. Be forewarned the place is pricey and food just OK.

Yes you are right it is the California Grill and it is on the 15th floor of the Contemporary resort. The only stipulation is that in order to see the fireworks from here you must have dinner there. They use to alow anyone to come up and enjoy the view but have stopped that now. The dress attire is resort casual so you can go and have dinner as soon as you leave the park.

Yes, there is a restauraunt near the top of Cinderella's castle called Cinderella's Royal Table. You can get reservations at the park. I think there was a booth near the tunnel that goes through the castle, or you can probably call ahead.
