Definitely Sandi C. Dreams allow us to resolve issues we have in life such as our expectations, our relationships and issues we involve ourselves in. Dreams are like a replay of our lives. The best way to interpret a dream is to write it down as soon as you awaken and then refer to it during the day to see what similarities are occurring.

As a professor of psychology (although not an expert on sleep and dreaming), here is what I think based on what I've read. Dreams are an attempt by the interpretive part of our brain to make sense of what are essentially randomly activated images and feelings. (See, for example, the work of J. Allen Hobson at Harvard.) Sometimes they reflect things that we are currently concerned about, but they don't have a "true" meaning in the sense that so many Yahoo! Answers users seem to think. That is, there's no universal symbolic meaning. So when someone here asks, "What does it mean if I dream that my girlfriend was riding a flying horse?," there's not really anything valid that any other user can tell that person.

dreams are just what the subconscious does to organize information when you are asleep think of it as "effortless multitasking" and obviously your mind would do random things while organizing, and when your brain is putting short term memory to long term memory, some ideas or other things may appear and you more or less have a dream, but interpretting your dream is pretty dangerous cause u might get some things that will lead you in a completely wrong direction so just enjoy your dream and let life take its course

Dreams do have some true meaning. They are true because your created them, so just like a picture you might paint, the dream expresses what is really going on in your life.

It is in interpreting those dreams that we can easily be led astray.

I do find most of my dreams have a real meaning behind them. I tend to dream about anxieties I have with work and personal relationships. Here's a fun website to check out. http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/ Of course there are hundreds more!
