It robbery what they are allowed to charge, considering they are buying in bulk also and getting extreme discounts when it comes to items they use. Last hospital stay I had, I noticed 1 Tylenol cost 7.00 the kicker was, I am highly allergic to Tylenol so I knew I didn't even get that 7.00 pill. I called my insurance company and reported it. The hospital had to pay my insurance company back.

I had this happen with dental visit too. He said I had x-rays I was pregnant at the time and refused the x-rays. He still submitted it and charged my insurance over 2700 in x-rays that never happened. Another call to the insurance and the dentist had to pay it back.

It's not just the band-aids you are paying for.
Time and use of staff and hospital facilities,
upkeep of facilities (repairs, electricity, water,
cleaners etc). Would you like to stay in a dump,
when you need their services?
Have you ever checked how much it costs to have
a prescription filled? I pay $12 to have 8 pills put in a
little plastic bottle and all the pharmacist does, is open
a big bottle, count out 8 pills and put those in a small
bottle. The pills themselves cost one $1.13.
Now that is what I call highway robbery!

Absolutely correct! The hospitals and doctors (the entire medical profession) is fleecing us and we just take it without doing anything about it. Why? Because when a person is sick he/she is at the mercy of these SOBs.

did you know you can bring your own prescription drugs in (with doctors approval) during your stay. this will save you a lot of money. Also double and triple check the itemized portion of your bill to be sure they didn't charge you for stuff you didn't use.
