Anyone know how to clean the inside of old Nintendo 64 games?

My old Nintendo 64 games have this green crust on the metal inside so they won't work in the system.

the contacts have gotten green? it's not solid, like junk, but it still prevents the game contacts from communicating with the pin connector within the N64

get a Q-tip, dip it in rubbing alcohol, and clean the metal contacts. the alcohol evaporates quickly, which is a nice plus. that should be good enough

if you really want to get into it, you can get a security bit set from ebay that can open the N64 games, as well as snes, nes, and sega games. that will allow you to open the plastic outer casing, and clean off the chip better. not usually necessary though

64 cartrides are pretty much industructable. But if you mangaged to F them up you're pretty much screwed. If they're games you love go look at your local game trade store like gamestop. Or look around on eBay and half.com and see if you can find it cheap. But odds are the cartriges you have are crap and can't be fixed.

yeah blow on the games... or wet your finger, and rub it on both sides of the part of the chip that sticks out of the game. This always helped me. Hopefully it'll work for you.
