I was just there from December 8th through the 15th and it is a wonderful resort! There is not much to do in Cayo Coco and generally, most people who go there on vacation stay at their resorts. They have a few day trips and one over night to Havana by plane...this one is very expensive. We did Moron by Boat, it was about 30.00 cuban pesos, it was okay, but the boat was a little scary and there is not much to do in Moron for the short time that you are there. There is lots to do at the Krystal Laguna...it is a huge resort with two very large pools and a smaller adult pool. Stay away from the Adult pool as just about everyone will get naked there, even if they shouldn't...yuck! At the Laguna Azul Pool Axcel will be your bartender...ask him to make you a banana mama. Yum! At this pool they will have live entertainment and contests from time to time, as well they have volleyball, water polo, etc. At night go to the laguna Azul mainbar in the lobby...Freddie will be your bartender until 11:00...tell him a nice Canadian girl named Michelle asked him to make a Belini for you...he is the only bartender there that knows how to make this drink...and he makes them well. On Tuesdays, Thursday, and I believe Saturdays and Sundays there is a bus trip at night to a club called the Cave. It is actually in a cave...it smells musty, but if you drink enough, the smell disipates. LOL This will cost you 10.00 convertible pesos...all drinks included. There is also a disco on site, it was pretty good as well. If you want something cool to bring back...see Carlos the gardener on the Laguna Azul side...he has great big arms and a mole on his face...ask him for a Coconut Money...it's definately cool. The resort is really clean and the workers are friendly...make sure you tip your maid well and she will clean your room from top to bottom.
We met so many nice people there that we partied with throughout the week...I sugguest you do that as well and you will have a great time no matter if you are at the resort or on a tour.
Have a great trip!

I'd suggest a "Weekend at Bernie's", only it would be a "Weekend at Fidel's" in this case.

I envy you. Americans generally can't go to Cuba, and as soon as Fidel is gone we'll be able to go once again.
