- Monitor plug is loose
- Maybe you only think that your computer has started. Hit the NUM LOCK key a few times, then CAPS LOCK key a few times. If you see the lights go on and off, your computer really did boot up. IF NOT, then the computer is really in trouble. In that case, unplug the computer and RESEAT the RAM modules; then try to restart the system.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

1. No power to the monitor. Check if there's a little light on in the front of the monitor.
2. Monitor cable not plugged into computer.
3. Video card is fried. Get new graphics card.

Do not check the motherboard batteries that is useless. You should first check the cable see if it is burn out or the pins are bent try a different monitor or cable. Then check the video card it might be fried or corrupted, so you might have ti replace. You just might also need to check to PSU which is the Power Supply Unit that is the box on the back of your computer where the power plugs into but this might not be a problem I think ur best chance is check the video card to see if it is burnt out. Happy troubleshooting.

firstly check the power cables
then see if the hard drive is working or not, u know, the red light (or green, depending on ur computer) which keeps blinking when a hard drive is working
reseat the ram modules
and if these don't solve ur problem, well, something's wrong with ur graphics card.
AND IN THE WORST CASE, UR MONITOR'S BUSTED!

1 st check to see if the monitor is pluged in
2nd make sure the power button on the monitor is on
3rd make sure the cable is connected to the back of your computer
4th if everything is pluged in and the light is orange or some other color then green unplug the monitor from the computer and see if it says some message like no device found , no cable , if it says that then your video graphics card is fired
5th and if the monitor still does work and its pluged in to the wall the light is on and you unpluged the cable from the back of the computer and you pressed the power button then it is probably your monitor
6th UM IF ALL HELL FAILS CONTACT A COMPUTER REPAIRER TECHNICIAN
7th NEVER OPEN THE BACK OF YOUR MONITOR THE RISK OF ELECTROCUTION IS HIGHLY LIKELY IF YOU OPEN THE BACK OF THE MONITOR AND TOUCH WIRES THERES TWO TYPE OF HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS

Do you have a graphics card....or do you have integrated graphics on the motherboard? If you have a card, unplug it...blow on it once or twice and then plug it back into the AGP or PCI-express slot taking care to seat it properly....reboot. If it is a PCI video card, try a different unused PCi slot. If you have integrated graphics, borrow, or buy a cheap PCI card and install it in the appropriate slot....but before all of this....try to borrow someone else's monitor or take you monitor to your neighbor and try in on their computer to make sure the monitor hasn't burned out.

You're saying that your monitor displays the POST message, and when it loads windows, your screen goes black? If that is the case, then try this:
boot your computer in safe mode (F8), then go to your display properties and change the refresh rate of your graphics card to adapter default or 60 Hz.

is the power on the monitor? Is it plugged into the wall and computer? Check the cable is plugged firmly into the computer, and also the back of the monitor. Does it sound like the computer is starting up, can you hear it start up, and the hard disk searching and reading?
Try those and let us know.
