Do you struggle with stopping eating when you are full rather than eating the whole thing?

Unfortunately in America, the motto for the food industry is "the bigger the better." I usually find it hard to finish a meal because the portions are so ridiculously huge. The reason why our country is so overweight is because we feel guilty and try to finish all of the food that is given to us, but in consequense to that we lead unhealthy lives.

Have to go for the quality of the food first, size second, albeit I do get really ticked off at some restaurants where you are compelled to spend a fortune on lots of courses just to fill up. I therefore think that good food with a reasonable sized portion is an absolute must - certainly if the restaurant wants to stay in business. People don't mind spending the money (if they have it of course) but they quickly get 'ticked off' at a 'rip off', and the word soon spreads.

I always stop when I am full, and i never have a problem with asking for a 'doggy bag'.
I take home what I cannot eat.
But some places (usually individually owned) often serve a plate
with much less food than you are capable of eating, so you can
go away hungry..

Years ago I would eat almost the whole thing because I was too embarrassed to bring the rest home. Then would feel horrible for eating so much. I no longer have that problem. I always eat half of my dinner and bring the other half home.

Ohh I sure do. I can normally eat half of what is there and feel perfectly fine, yet I always tend to eat more. Mostly because everyone else at my table isn't done so I occupy myself and just nibble and nibble until there is not really enough for a to go bag.. Then I feel kind of bad for wasting it so I eat the rest. Then I feel bloated and I hate that feeling.

No, I don't usually finish everything on my plate, unless it's just eggs and toast for breakfast. Half it as soon as you get it and have it bagged or wrapped. Most portions served are twice what we would/should eat at home.

I am embarrassed to say that I never think it is enough. I like big portions. I exercise so it has not caught up with me...yet.

There's rarely more given to me than I can eat, but sometimes doggy bags are helpful.
