The Avalon is more of a cruiser of a car, better at long interstate travel then twisty roads. The G35 is a sports sedan, with much sharper handling and driving dynamics. It's also not as quiet or smooth as the Toyota, but that's why it's a sports sedan ( closer in nature to a BMW 3 series)
If you enjoy driving and the feel of the car responding to your moves, then go for the Infiniti. If you like a softer ride and like getting from Point A to B in comfort with a little bit of performance, go for the Avalon.
As a car enthusiast, I prefer the G35.

The Infiniti G35 without question. I have an Infiniti I30 and I would not want an Avalon. Get the G35 and you'll love it.

The infiniti of coarse. You can't compare the elite brand of Nissan with the "this car is for an old guy" looks. Besides infiniti has a much better reputation. And also, for being an elite brand it contains certain features that will not be available and a car like the Avalon for a few years.

Better performance? Prolly the G35

G35 if you like the speed and handling. If you want comfort and style, Avalon. I perfer the older Avalons than the new ones.

Um thats a hard comparison...pretty differant cars. IMO G35 especially the new 2007s they look alot better then the older front end.
