I would recommend that you study really hard, as most of the good jobs (well in London anyway) require that you achieve at least a 2:1.

Think about the area of the country you want to live and work. Research into companies that have special graduate schemes (most of the big banks and investment banks do), as they expect you to have some but a limited experience in the working world. They want candidates who are enthusiastic and demonstrate that they can do fulfil the job role. Filling in the application forms and attending interviews takes a long time, so I'd wait until after your exams (May/June?) to apply for jobs (unless you desperately need the money or want to start work straight away).

Visit your careers centre at uni and get them to help you create your CV and practice interview techniques.

Good luck!

Im not sure what bookfiend is on about!! They obviously have not been through the grad recruitment process!!!

If you are in the UK many of the London city jobs are going NOW!! Check on all the sights mentioned above, but another great site is milkround, it gives you loads of updates, warns of pending deadlines etc. It emails you everyday with jobs that fit your profile.

Most Graduate jobs as I am sure you know recruit now for a Sept 2007 start. If you want a full-time grad job then I wouldn't waste the effort on applying for the temp jobs yet, as it does take up a lot of time as I am sure you know.

DO NOT GET DOWN ABOUT REJECTION!!! My friend graduated last year, he has experience as working in a brokerage in London as he has worked as an intern every summer. He qualified with a high 2.1, is intelligent, is a proper essex boy (typical for the industry!!) but still applied to over 60 jobs before he got one. He now works as an oil trader in London. IT CAN BE DONE!!

Also I agree with the comments above about researching the comps, know why you want to work in a specific area, read the FT and keep your mind u to date on topical issues. Really push your work experience in application forms etc.

Good Luck!!

How can you get a graduate job until you have graduated? A company won't want to risk taking on someone who may not even graduate at the end of their course, so you need to be patient. Alternatively, you could apply to firms and ask them to take you on for a trial period, with a view to employing you properly once you graduate.

Monster,Hotjobs and Careerbuilder are some of the largest job boards where you could apply for jobs and upload your resume. Since,Craigslist allows free job postings, many companies post their job vacancies on this online classifieds website. You could also search for jobs using aggregators like Indeed and Simply Hired. Referrals are also becoming a popular way to get hired for a job. Check this site out for more details http://tinyurl.com/emdyn
