I think banks will be open because they are not run by the government.

Yep. They are planned to be open, though in some areas with independent banks, they may choose to close tomorrow. But the major chain banks will surely be open.

No banks will be open tomorrow, nor will the mail be running. I guess it depends on where you live. The President declared a holiday b/c President Ford will be buried tomorrow, 010207.

I am a Security Coordinator for Suntrust Banks and all of our locations in DC will be Open. I am assuming most other banks will be too.
