If you don't want to go on ebay, they sell relatively cheap trumpets at best buy, only a hundred dollars or so. But you can get them really cheap on ebay, so I would recommend that.

Check out pawnshops in your city. They usually have a large amount of pawned/ sold instruments at very cheap prices.
