i think i would have reservations, knowing about the statistics with regards to return rates, and the overall sad state of "correctional" system. still, i probably would give someone the benefit of the doubt, but trust has to be earned.

Honestly, I'm going to have to say no on this one... even though it disturbs me that I feel this way. I believe in forgiveness, but some things are more difficult to accept than others. I'd really have to know that reformation has occurred... otherwise I'm afraid I'd just let it be.

My only objection would be if the offense was a sex crime--either rape of child molestation. That is about a sickness that takes more than jail to rehabilitate and without treatment cannot be kept under control.

Sure. Just as not every shut eye is sleeping, not everyone in jail is guilty. And even if they were, if they had proven themselves to be a trustworthy individual, I would befriend them.

I became friends with someone who was in jail. He did some bad things in his past, and serving time really changed him. He was one of the nicest people I know.

Probably not. It would depend on many things, but most times, if one is sent to jail, they just don't have an honest mind.

I could if it wasn't someone who had murdered someone. I believe everyone should get a 2nd chance.
