If you buy that cheap laptop, the best that you can do is to expand the RAM a bit. But if the thing is under 1GHz in speed, it isn't worth $200. If it is more than 1GHz, then tell the police the Serial Number, because it is probably STOLEN.

But if things work out, check for RAM prices from that model computer at http://www.coastmemory.com

Good luck and Happy Computing!

you cannot upgrade a laptop like a desktop, everything for a laptop is very specific. You would be better to buy a laptop that has a dual processor in it, you'd be suprised at what you get for near $1000.00. Even if you could, you would need a new battery, you'd have poor screen resolution, and would have to add wireless, a bunch of little things. Save the time and energy towards a new laptop.

wel, the processors in laptops are generic, meaning the cannot be easily upgraded! however, you CAN upgrade the processor if u noe the chipset it's running on and the socket. the intel dual cores run on socket 479 and the amd dual cores run on socket 638. procuring the processor can be a problem as not many stores sell notebook processors. besides, the are mighty expensive as most of them are fanless. u wud be better off buying a notebook wit a dual core than upgrading one. the RAM can easily be upgraded. the HDD too can be upgraded easily. however the processor and the graphics processor can prove to be a hurdle to upgrade
