I just moved from a small town, just like Mayberry (it's actually named Mabank! Hah!). At any rate, The town I just moved to (Tyler Texas) is alot bigger than my previous. Why are people less outgoing and courteous? I am a natural socialite, but I feel insecure being here..

I actually live in and was born here in Toronto Ontario and to top in off, I live as downtown as you can possibly get. AT 20 years old i'm also pretty social and I've been to my share of small towns and cottage countries and I know of the difference you're speaking of. I think generally people who live in highly populated aread have their guard up a little more and so they should. However, there's nothing wrong with bringing some of your customs into bigger towns and cites. Its always refreshing when people are friendly.

big cities, more people, more crime, higher living costs, more stress & pressure, in a small town it's the opposite. your mentally, way of thinking, needs to change in order to survive in the big city, the first few months can be tough for you, but you'll adapt & survive, finding your way around
