The book "if i did it" refers to one chapter that is hypothetical and labeled fiction - a great part of the book likely is OJ defending himself against false allegations. Possibly the "If i did it" title and chapter was decided by the publisher and for the sensational value which they thought would translate into higher book sales. The book is not a confession and Simpson has always maintained his innocence.

I'd say he was thinking, "I'm so important, I can do what I want, and no one will do anything about it." He was pretty well right, too, at least about the murders! He admitted in an interview, that he was just trying to make money on the book.

this is about time he's held responsible for something he does. i'm drained of celebrities not getting screwed (except should you've hung out in penitentiary) like something human beings.

I think he was just gloating at the fact that Johnnie Cochran literally helped him get away with murder and he just wanted to get it out of his system once and for all. He knows good and damn well he did it.
