Surprisingly to me, I've had more luck with Yahoo people search than all the whitepages, etc.

I've even found people with unlisted phone numbers.

Try on-line telephone books. Try putting their name into search engines. Another possibility is to use Yahoo Answers for "Does anyone know Jo Q. Citizen thought to be living in New Zealand/Vermont/Australia/Alberta and possibly working in sales?"

Do they have a criminal record of any kind (even speeding tickets, etc.)? A lot of states have free access to Circuit Court websites that list current addresses. Have you looked the person up on switchboard.com already?
