I don't feel that way at all. I think there are plenty of guys that are actually more responsible than the woman who have custody of the kids. As for married folks, it usually starts because of the lack of effort or time spent from the start by the dad.

It is a natural instinct within a woman to nurture, men were originally created as the protector/provider. We have taken those God given instincts and watered them down to fit our own needs to the point where nothing is as it was originally planned any more.
Also, many women (certainly not all) have had very negative dealings with men being unwilling to pitch in and therefore have a biased opinion of men when it comes to dealing with children.
My mother told me that our father never even held us until we were 6-months old. He blamed it on having very large hands (which he did) and he didn't want to hurt us. Believe me, we found out differently that he was more interested in making babies than caring for them. Even now I marvel at men who take an active interest in the care and nurturing of children, largly in part due to my childhood.

A woman is protective over their child and actually in most cases mother knows best. People with children tend to be picky with who watches their child, who influences them, and things such as that i think it is a natural instinct to tell you the truth. The same for when animals don't share their cubs with other females. All together. They just want what is best for their children and most women think that they are what is best.

My children were raised by their father. We were divorced while I was in treatment for depression. My daughter is a college graduate, and my son, who has learning disabilities, holds down a job and is saving for a house.

i don't feel that way and know some dads who would be the better primary parent...society has this idea that moms are better and sadly it it's an accepted policy...fathers are automatically given the role as the breadwinner and mom the nurturer

Because they are. Women have the chemical make-up and the hormones to be ultra sensitive to their childrens needs. Father's are more for discipline purpose. Mothers teach the children, fathers instruct the children.
