well some say magic johnson, and probably it is, he was the most well rounded player
magic could play pg, sg, sf, pf, AND CENTER
he learned the hookshot from his homie kareem and could do anything
some say KAREEM ABDUL JABBAR == scoring champ many times, still holds some records for laker scoring
INVENTED THE HOOKSHOT and ofcourse mastered it
NBA mvp many times, and he is a good teacher, teaching andrew bynum atm!
kobe kobe kobe, the best scorer there ever was probably, hitting fadeaways, three championships, 81 points, he is the scorer of all time, and his defence is rough

Earvin "Magic" Johnson....before Magic came along the Lakers were for the most part thought to be the fakers...they had a reputation of choking come playoff time and weren't really considered a premier winning franchise since before the days of George Mikan and the Lakers of Minneapolis (only 1 title in 1972)..Magic changed the culture of the Lakers completely, every time you knew Magic was in uniform for a season you expected a championship or to at least be in contention for the title...He eliminated the tradition of the Lakers being humiliated over and over by the Celtics..and oh by the way isn't he 2nd in the NBA all time for triple doubles...it didnt get much better in LA than the Magic Man

Magic without a doubt . He came in and turned the Lakers around and did whatever was needed to win . Score , pass, rebound . No one has run the break better or made his team better . It is a tough call with all the Laker greats from West to Jabbar to Bryant .But no one had as much immediate impact not only on the Lakers but on the guard position and how it was played . Oh did I fail to mention the Championship he won when he moved to Center .

In my opinion, the greatest LA Laker of all time is Magic Johnson. He was a better basketball player than anyone.

Magic Johnson. He ushered in the era of showtime in L.A. as he led them to numerous championships, and he also took the Lakers to new heights. Without him, the LA Lakers franchise wouldn't be as famous as it is now.

Jerry West
Averaged more than 30 points per game
more steals per game, his average was 10 (NBA started recording steals during West last season) still held as high rank
