My dad and me like to star gaze. We both see these small faint lights or sometimes large and bright and it moves across the sky. They have no sound or silhouette of this object just the light moving across the sky. We live in the south west part of Virginia so if there anyone else who see these or have a clue what they are please reply.

There not meteor because we see them every night and meteor burn up fast move faster and these move medium speed across the skies. My dad has said he has seen them follow near planes. And fly below cloud cover and still give off no sound.

Those sound like either meteors or airplanes. An airplane flying high enough in the sky makes no sound and has no visible silhouette, just the sight of its lights. Meteors are small space-rocks that give off sparks as they become extremely hot in the Earth's atmosphere.

From what you are decribing I would also say they are satelites in orbit. You can usually see satalites, International Space Station a couple hours after sunset and before sunrise. The reason behind this is because when the sun is low in th sky the light reflects off the materials in orbit. Here's a site that tracks the satellites for you're area. The only thing is you can't see satellites under cloud cover so It could be many things.
If you're interested here's a site so you can track all the satellites that pass your area. The easiest to find is the Internation Space Station. When it passes, its very bright so its hard to miss.

I too have witnessed these strange lights in the sky and am starting an investigation with some other guys that know a lot about cars! I think they are the beings from the beyond known as "The Greys". You can do a search for "The Greys" and you will see them!

Satellites & or space crafts. I've seen the space shuttle a few times. One time right overhead in broad daylight - it's that bright. I've also seen it when it was attached to the International Space Station. Use the website below to track when space objects will be overhead in your area. Make sure its not too cloudy - Have fun.

If they are moving very quickly across the sky they are likely objects or particles from space entering into earth's atmosphere. They are traveling above 20K MPH with zero friction in outterspace, but as they enter our atmosphere the friction caused by our 'air' causes these objects or particles to quickly burn up. It is a sort of 'safety mechanism' to protect the earth.

Believe it or not...some of those small lights are satellites circling the earth...I see them all the time at night being there is no light for miles to obscure the vision....the ones that shoot across the sky are meteorites....and the ones with blinking lights are aircraft.

Probably satelites.
They are near enough that under certian conditions and light enough cloud cover, they could be observable through clouds.
UFO's aren't really known for being in the same places night after night.

That my friend is indeed the International Space Station that you see now and again as light bounces off of it and shines down to earth.

They could be many things. They could be satellites, meteors, airplanes, comets, or the Northern Lights.
