I am 24 and I still wish I was a kid. When you were a kid it was so much fun to think what it would be like as a "grown-up" and now that I'm grown up I think that kid would be dissapointed I don't eat mac n cheese for every meal, stay up til 3 am every night, or live on a houseboat and swim around with dolphins. When you're a kid every day you're learning something new and looking forward to the next day, when you grow up you know exactly what you'll do the next day. I think that when you get older there is still wonder and amazement in life like when you were a child, but the moments are fewer and more far between. But I think the longing for the simpler days is comepletely normal.

I'm 15 and life isn't exactly carefree. I have a lot of stress just in different forms. I'm in all IB classes and other honors. If I don't maintain a 4.2 or higher my parents will come down on my like a bomb. However I don't want to grow up because I know I will never be a kid again. I'm almost to the point where I'm an adult and I already feel like I was younger again. I'd say the only way you can live like a kid as an adult is to make enough money to drop your job and hire someone to pay the bills. Otherwise it's pretty hard to be carefree.

I guess I would say yes and no.I wish I could change a few things.I would have never married my husband at 18,at all actually,I am 32 now,but I would want to keep my kids.I wish I would have told my parents I loved them more because they both died when I was young and I wish I would have never broken off a relationship with someone who really loved me because I was so insecure and scared that I was mean all the time. Now I have guilt everyday because I hurt him and now I am being paid back fully for it!So I wish I could go back to about age 10 and start over,I would make better choices and be a better person.

You forced me to look back and here is my answer..... No, if I were a kid, I would not have my kids, if I were a kid, I would not own the house I live in, if I were a kid, I could not stay up until dawn if I chose and watch the sunrise from behind the wheel of my own car.
If I were a kid, I could not eat what I want, when I want. And the biggest reason of all.... if I were a kid, my photo albums would dissappear along with the memories that created them.
You are still young, live every moment as if it were your last, have not regrets and never look back until you are too old to get up out of your chair. Then enjoy your memories.

To a lot of people you are still a kid. Your 20's are a time of self dicovery- seeking out the truth that lies only in YOUR heart. Your 30's are for nesting. Creating a family of either children, pets, a mate or close friends. So the angst you feel now is age appropriate. You will feel it at each chapter of your life. The thing with being a "grown up" is that you get to guide your own destiny.

I would only want to be a kid again if I could go back with the mind I have now. Wow! Wouldn't that be something.
Instead of wishing things were different.. take control of your life and change it now. You're young, you've got plenty of time to live life the way you like best. Chin up!

Turning 29 this month....I totally understand! As for me, though, I wouldn't want to be a kid again, but would love to live in the late 70's and 80's when I was one. Life was less complicated then...

Sure, there are times I want to return to my childhood days.
No responsibilities. No cares.
Also no money (of my own), no freedom to make choices regarding my life.
Enjoy your memories (sounds like you had a great time. Like me). These will make those hard adult days seem not so bad.
BTW...I am 45...got a lotta more memories, and have to work just a little harder to remember them ;-)

WOW. You have so much to live and look forward too. I think kids grow up too fast now days, and this leaves them feeling there is nothing else.
