No. There were only 3 books. However there is talk about a Hobbit movie. The Hobbit takes place several years before the Lord of the Rings. Sadly because of a law suit between Peter Jackson and the company ant released Lord of the Rings, Peter will not be directing it.

J.R.R. Tolkein wrote only 3 Lord of the Rings books, with one prelude of sorts, The Hobbit. All three LotR books have been made into movies. Rumors say The Hobbit will be made into a movie, but sadly it may not be directed by Peter Jackson, the director of the other movies. In my opinion, that just won't complete the series.

there's a chain of books by way of Timothy Zahn stated through fact the Thrawn Trilogy. the guy books are 'heir to the Empire', 'dark rigidity turning out to be' and the appropriate Command. The activities in those books ensue 5 years after the activities of episode VI (return of the Jedi) it is the main common and respected storyline between followers. And whilst asked, I wager maximum human beings would desire to declare that it may be made good right into a action picture.

There won't be a Lord of the Rings 4. I believe they are making a version of The Hobbit, but that would be classified as a Prequel. I think it will be entirely different because it will have a different director and production company.

There can't be, but they are in the works of making The Hobbit, the prequel to the LOTR. But, at this point, Peter Jackson isn't going to be directing. So we'll see how that works out. (I personally think they cannot do any films related to LOTR without using Peter Jackson. He did an amazing job before. and I expect no less from him!)

no, tolkien wrote 3 lord of the rings books, and he's dead, so no unless someone writes a crappy fourth one

if you like it alot you could read the lord of the ring books, way better and more complete than the movies, or read his other books

J.R.R. Tolkein wrote four books. The Hobbit was the one never turned into a movie. I've heard a rumor that they're trying to make it into one.
