Oily Skin:
Wash your face three times a day with an oil free face wash. I would use the aveeno or st. ives. Then use a oily free moisturizer. Use a minerals or loose powder make-up. I would go with a mineral make up because most don't use wierd chemicals.

Combination:
Use an oil free face wash and any moisturizer. Mineral or loose powder makeup. Most likley a loose powder cause it will have that coverage so you can't tellthe changes in the skin.

Dry:
Wash your face 1-2 times a day with any wash and moisturizer. Make-up I would use any liquids but not heavy liquids, powders; phis. formula.

Recommendations:
Wash/Moisturizer: Purpose(CVS)
Minerals/ Powder Make-up: BareMinerals(Sephora), Phis. Formula(Target)
Liquid: Dream Matte Moose (Maybelline, Target)
Eyes/Lips: NYC products are the best i had no problem (Target), Or anything you would normally use.

Hope this helps.
P.S. try the link if you don't mind buying semi-expensive makeup.

Hi - Here is my two cents, assuming your situation is similar to mine.
Adult acne has been a big problem for me. Throughout my teen yrs and early twenties, I tried medications, used topical creams and prescribed facial washes, which only yielded limited and temporary results and not to mention cost a lot of money. After some indepth research over the past three years I have been able to better control it. For me, it was a matter of "cleansing" my body from the inside, a holistic approach rather then trying to just heal the skin's surface. My suggestions (based on my experience):

- Exercise. Acne isn't always a surface skin problem, it can originate from how well (or not well) our bodies "cleanse" impurities. So this means taking care of our bodies. Exercise helps sweat out impurities and such.

- Healther diet - I started eating less processed foods (artificial stuff) and more organic/natural types of foods, stayed away from trans fat, and made sure my diet includes foods rich in vitamins, antioxidants, essential fatty acids (EFA) - you can google all this and get more details on types of foods.

- Keep face clean, don't overwash. If you wear make up, make sure it's not oil based. I also use a clay mask (clay based is the best for acne prone people) every couple of weeks to "refresh" my skin and remove access oil that can build up.

- Research - Everyone is different and I tried different things until I found a combination that worked for me. Educating myself on what causes my acne was the first step to making it go away.

It's been three years now and my skin only experiences the occasional breakouts, but it's so much better now, and I am healthier as well.
Best of luck!

Honestly..proactive was the answer for me...it can be a bit pricy.....but it's much cheaper than the dermatologist...plus they offer a one month package which is half the price of the two month treatment plan and it comes with a 30-day money back guarantee. I'd say try proactive....I don't understand how it took away practically all of my acne...but it did... use it in combination with keeping hair out of your face, not eating too much chocolate & staying away from fatty foods (because these may cause people to break out), as well as avoiding things that you feel make you break out...hope this helps

I happen to have acne on my face too. But if you want to get reed of it the best thing is to scrub not too hard but enough to wash off the acne. There's this type of soap it looks like carcoal or a colored soap they sell it at most locations. But that helps, also if you want you can try "Black Sea" its a spa treatment that pervents acne. Ever since I've used anyone of those my face been clearing a whole lot. But don't use proactiv that doesn't really work because after using it you break out even worst.

I had problems with acne when I was younger... I went to the dermatologist and got some creams. They worked... sortof. But as an adult, I tried Proactive.... I've been using it for 3 years. I hardly ever break out and my skin is noticeably better.

Hang in there... it will get better.

first of all, you didnt even spell it right. acne.

try to wash it twice a day no more, preferably a one with salyic acid or benzoyl peroxide. then do a for your type of skin, adn then finish off with a lotion. no matter how oily your skin is, always put lotion, but always put lotion on that doesnt clog pores (non-comegenic) . after putting on lotion after you tone and wash for a few weeks your skin will slowly begin to grow dryer, because your skin knows it will get lotion, and stop producing so much oil. thus ending most problems.

if a big pimple of blemish suddenly appears , use a spot treatment you can buy. all this stuff you can buy at walmart, or a local drugstore.

good luck!
