Propylene is a straight-chain hydrocarbon olefin, so it's chemcial properties are that it is oxidizeable, reactive with acids and bases, and polymerizeable (to make plastics)

As for its physical properties, it is a gas at room temperature, is soluble in hydrocarbon solvents, it is flammable, combustible, and has a low flash point, and also has a faint butane-like odor.

As I said above, the type of chemical compound is a straight-chain hydrocarbon olefin.

the most representative reaction of alkene is addtitional reaction.

With Halogen, Hydrogen, with HX ( X is halogen element ), with H20.......

another type of addtional reaction of alkene is concured reaction.

concured reaction of propylene

n C-C=C + n C=C-C -> [C-C-C( with a bond )-C( with a bond)-C-C]n

, when alkene burn in air produces CO2, H2O

when reacts with Potassium Permanganate, it produces heat and the color of KMnO4 change from violet to transprent. ( oxidation reaction )
