I want to appeal to younger generations in need of my guidance?

Question

How do i make religion "cool"?

Something along the lines of wearing a baseball cap backwards and skating perhaps.

Your suggestions please.

Be yourself, mate, and try to understand us. Well, understand those who are in your target age group.
Before College I was searching and looking for people to respect me. Now, because I give younger people respect, I seem to be accepted, though I refuse to supply beer to those under the legal age. Yes, they do ask.
So be prepared.
If you try baseball caps or anything like that you will probably be thought a right git. At least I would prolly think of you that way.
If you can buy a car faster than mine, though, I might become your friend, but it will have to haul a few 20-somethings along. Barking mad for cars, we/they are!
Last thought, please be yourself for the sake of friendship, I don't think anyone in this age group (say under 30 if not older) can stand being preached at or influenced in some authoritarian manner, unless trained to respect religion or some other kinds of authority.

I could never believe in any religion that stopped me from doing as I wish.

I know why we are here, I know how we are all connected, I know there is no Hell, I know there are star people, I know about Montauk, I know myself and I know that humankind is way behind schedual. Why on earth, would I want to be restricted by a religion which was made up years and years ago by some power-hungry HUMANS who couldnt even produce a simple book without loads of unexplainable contradictions?

You want to make religion cool? Try not scaring people into doing what you want, try encouraging them to do what THEY want.

And why is Sex (an enjoyable experiance) a sin? Why is it OK to kill someone in a war under God's name? Why did they burn the witches? Love thy neighbour? Ha! As long as it suits you.

*I know I'm sounding harsh here, I just wish people would concentrate on real issues like, Why are we still using money as an incentive? Money should have been scrapped long ago, we should be working together because we want to not struggling to 'earn a living' and all that. Maybe, If you want to be really cool, you could get people involved with these REAL issues and go into politics and REALLY change the world so that everyone is happy! Please!*

Don't be fate, children today can see right through it. I remember that years ago my youth minster opened the church up and offer snacks after school for teenagers only! He had good Christan music, and today there is alot of that going around, Hillsong,Shillet,kj52 and on and on, The kids today don't see that Christan concerts and their music is so cool, and the high you naturally get from that. Be funny, you can be serious and funny at the same time, you know that. You have to devople your own style that will keep them HUNGRY for more.. wearing a hat backwards and saying yo-yo-yo is not what is going to work. I really do wish you the best in this..god bless

I don't need religion to be cool. I have friends that are cool.
I wish the spiritual leaders would be truthful. That is why most young people are turned off to religion. We are better educated.
We know the Cross was added later and worshipped before Christ ever came. We know their is no Santa Clause that s a lie.
We know their is no Easter Bunny. And also that it is associated with very pagan religions that God condemmed. We don't need spiritual leaders to tell us it is okay to have sex and then how to tell our parents we have a VD or a unwanted babie.
when we find out Jesus wasn't born on December 25, and the rest of it is lies. What else have you told us that is lies.
Or Spiritual leaders who say it is our duty as Americans to die in a Foreign war to keep two Muslims from fighting when you have told us the only way to heaven is through Christ. Is that true or isn't it? If that is true then they are comdemed by God and why should my friends be coming home in a body bag.
Adults polute the earth and create global warming and think our lives are expendable because we are young and then say why don't you respect adults. Why should we they don't respect us.
So stop having music and being cool, I have enough friends.
Start telling the truth. Or do you even know what that is anymore?

Shake things up a bit. Rather than just turning water into wine, provide a wide selection of beverages for the enjoyment of the masses. Like Beer, Champagne and B52 shots. Same goes for the fish thing. Sooo 2000 years ago! Try cheesecake, deep fried chicken or burgers, but make them healthy AND taste taste even better. Maybe go for a co-brand deal with McDonalds or Burger King to increase the reach of your message. "Try the new hot'n'spicy McJesus burger! Hot as hell, sent from heaven!" or "The new Double Jesus burger with cheese, the only sin is to NOT try one!"

How about authoring a new bible? Don't make the same mistake of leaving it up to 40 different people with different opinions spanning 400 years. Write it *yourself* then press release it something like "The new new testement" or "Rappin wid da man" or "What I really meant to say was..." - by Jesus. Clearly the previous contributors stuffed it up for all of us.

You have to find a way to show how today's problems, pressures, and things that youth go through, happened a LONG time ago and are described in the scriptures... how religion and the bible can be guide to help get you through this "maze" called life.

I hear a lot of young people these days are into recording violent assaults on strangers on their mobile phones.
So you could try something like that, if it doesnt clash too much with that whole 'turn the other cheek' thing you got going on, Jesus.
