Well I need help with a grade 10 science project that isn't too complicated but that doesn't look like a 6 yr old can do it. Also I'd like something that won't take a month long something that can be done in like a week or two weeks with steady reserch. Also I need a project thats either in physics or biology. Thanks alot for your sugestions!... also I don't want you to just say to do something but not give me instructions. Please I really need this its for regionals! Thanks!

Just to let you know, Regionals is extremely competitive, so finding and executing a science fair project at this level is difficult. My project in tenth grade involved plants/botany because you don't have to go through the hassle of bacteria or people forms. What I did was I extracted a pigment from different teas called tannins. These tannins also function as antibiotics, so in essence, my project was determing which tea had the most antiobiotics, thus which one was the healthiest for the body. At this level, judges look for projects that can benefit everyday life. My project was done over a span of about two months, but I was only in the lab every Friday for those two months. Tannin extraction isn't difficult, but it does involve lab equipment. Other pigments, such as color, can be extracted from plants as well. For example, look up plant chromatography. Extracting color from flowers or leaves is extremely easy. All you need is coffee filter paper and water.
Be sure you know your project inside out! The judges will question you about your project and why you chose it! Best of luck to you!!!

So, you want not an idea, but the entire thing written out for you? You want the procedure, materials, hypothesis, result and data paragraph, and you will do what? Print it out for a display board and put your name on it? I don't think so... Oh, and it can't take you even a month? How long have you known about the assignment? I do have an idea that won my kids top prizes at our county fair. Unfortunately, if your school limits you to the scientific method projects you might not be able to do it. Or, you could adjust it to fit. They did a display on all the ingredients in cigarettes, and what those ingredients are also used for. Like, embalming fluid! True!

When I was in high scool AP Biology, I tried to create what I called, a "Helen Keller Bug". A bug with no eyes and no wings. I crossed eyeless and wingless fruit flies in an attempt to breed these insects according to genetics. It was a cool idea and I had fun doing it. The flies breed and hatch inside about 10 days.

Try the websites below. They have tons of great ideas, ways to get started, and all the tools necessary to complete the project. Of course, the quality of the finished project is based upon the energy and dedication you give to the project. Best of luck at regionals.
