First off I am the only child. My parents are french immigrants and own and operate a restaurant. My dad works about 14 hours a day and my mom about 10 hours a day. I have grown up in the restaurant business. So as a result I have very mature at a young age like 11 or 12. I took things seriously liek my parents. But as a result, I dont like to hang out with my friends who are too immature. So I stay alone at home and just do my homework and other hobbies. I am planning on being a doctor and I am on the right path because I successfully passed all my AP exams(AP Chem 5, AP Biology 5, AP Physics B 4, AP Calculus AB 3, AP French Lang. 4, AP Spanish lang. 3, AP Spanish lit. 3, AP World History 3, AP US History 3) I am planning on going to UCLA. Do I have a good mentality or am I too mature?

You sound like someone who is growing into a decent, hard-working adult. One suggestion that I make is that you do take the time to socialise with other people your age and to take up a few extra-curricular activities (volunteer at your local children's ward or offer to help young pupils in your school with their homwork).

A girl I knew had straight As in her exams but, when she went to apply for medicine, she was told she was too focused on her studies. What they like are people who are well-rounded, with many interests and are able to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds.

You're not too mature. You sounded perfectly sane till you said UCLA. I suggest you take a year out to see a psychologist so you can figure out USC is the appropriate college.

you seem to be well balanced, academically, just make sure that you balance it out with having fun! you know the old saying
"all work and no play makes john a dull boy" . without harming
you're studies, learn to have a little fun, you deserve it. never lose balance.

You sound a lot like me. And I go to Columbia, so I guess I turned out okay and I suspect you will too.
