I put bath caulk on my shower doors and they dry time says 24 hours, but it has been about 48 hours and it is still a bit wet. Is there anything that can be done to get it to dry quicker? It is a silicone base caulk...

Read the tube; it should tell you what the product's drying time it. Most silicone caulks take a couple of days to get solid but it's safe to use the tub/shower/sink after 24 hours providing you are careful not to gouge the still somewhat soft caulk. Increasing air flow with a small fan in the area will help the process along. Bathrooms are notoriously damp and the damper the area, the slower the drying time.

That should not be happening unless the caulk has come in contact with moisture. Sure no one has used the shower when your not looking? If its too cold in the bathroom it will also slow down the normal drying time. Heat of some type should fix the prob. We used to use heatlamps but thats kind of expensive just to dry silicone.K spencer has me way lol.

If you are using a "GE Silicone II" type caulk, it will take longer to "dry", in fact it remains soft and pliable for a long time. Dont allow children (or adults, for that matter) to dig in it.

Moisture and coolness will slow the process. Get the area dry and warm and keep it this way until the silicone firms up. After that you should not have to worry to much

Place a space heater in the bathroom close door and get temp up to about 100 deg. this should speed up drying time a lot..

When we redid the tile in our bathroom we used a box fan to keep the air moving.. I also had a portable heater to dry out the air a little bit too..

warm the whole room, ambient temperature makes a difference and remember most things dry from surface in so if it's a bit wet on the outside it wetter on the inside.

You'd better follow the directions but you could try a heat gun or blow dryer but it may ruin it all.
