I joined this company about a year back. The work explained to me looked so promising. But then, 6 months down the road, I was not doing what I had been promised of. I feel really misreable doing tons of paperwork.

I am more of a hands-on type of person, so I woould really like the nature of my job to change. Plus, my boss has a terrible temper, and any chances of talking to her on my job change seems doomed.

People keep telling me that I should tell her, I have and she promised me that I would get some help (an assistant) sometime soon, but it dosent look like its going to happen. I am so upset, and angry with myself.

I do not know where my careers heading too. The reason I do not want to leave, is because I love this company too much. I am also worried that if I ask for a department transfer, there would be a backlash from my current boss.

Is there anyway that I have a right to ask for this change? I want to be happy at what I do, and not be bullied at work.

You have to watch out for number one----you! What do you have to lose it you ask for a transfer? You don't like the work now so if they don't move you then it will be a great opportunity for you to find something that you do enjoy. There are a lot of great companies out there. Go for it! I know you can do it! :)

You could try being honest and telling your current boss exactly what you wrote here...and just be prepared for the backlash.

Emphasize you like working for her/him and that you really like the environment and your team members. Will make it sound less 'personal'.

I've been where you are and I moved on to bigger better things and didn't look back. Not always an easy decision but in my case it was best. You really do need to come clean on this with your boss for your own happiness. Best of luck to you!

Ask for the change, what ever happens, happens. You have the right to do this and if your not happy doing what your doing, then you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. When you have to work the most important thing is that you like what your doing. Hey, good people are hard to come by, maybe if they think they might loose you they will put you to work doing what you thought you would be doing.
