Regardless of how other people in the world feel about it, the fact is that is the lawful way of execution in Iraq. The people of Iraq deserved to have justice done in whatever they consider culturally correct and if hanging is exceptable there then so be it. The will of the Iraqi people was met and justice was served. Ultimately there is no "correct" way to kill another person but there will always be a need for capital punishment, he chose to risk his own life by behaving the way he did so in the end he chose his fate.

Saddam did not care about the thousands of people that he killed.

No. I found hanging to be a primitive manner of execution in today's world, especially considering how well-known Saddam Hussein was. The whole world knew about this execution, and to do it by hanging seemed intolerable to me.
