If you are planning on installing Linux, all you have to do is turn off Windows virtual memory, and run a disk defragmenter. Put the Linux Boot CD in your CD ROM Drive and Reboot. Linux will automatically resize your Hard Drive for you. Then everytime you reboot you will be able to select which OS you want to use. I am currently using a Dual Boot Computer with Windows XP and Xandros Linux. I have also used SuSe Linux on this same Hard Drive.

Windows ME is a real POS... and, I haven't seen any app. that won't run faster, in an emulator in Linux! Neither has Microsoft Corporation! (Microsoft runs Linux on most systems at Redmond, plus, all firewalls, all routers, the Lab 400, and Development systems).

I run http://pclinuxos.com which is upto 50X faster, comes with 5500 FREE games, programs, applications, and is true multi-tasking, multi-user (all at the same time!), and must be OK, because Microsoft runs 45,000 Microsoft.com, MSN.com, and Hotmail.com (si9nce 1997!) on GNU/Linux!!!

Switch, and never look back. Linux makes older computers scream!

You have to configure the drive to have two partitions. Install Windows first and than install the second operating system.

Start with an unpartitioned drive. Install Windows and allocate and format half the space. Install the second OS and do the same with the remaining space.
