I hate this question! It's asked constantly & is always an "OPINION WAR"
In my much researched (& experiance ) opinion, Yes.
When it comes to trucks:
absolutely YES. Here's the (truth) facts to back me up:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/f150/truth/
Ford is also the undisputed sales leader for the last 30 years consecutively. Here's proof of that:
http://www.forbes.com/2006/12/17/toyota-pickup-trucks-oped-cz_jf_1219flint.html
Now you'll probably have a dozen other opinions & I will undoubtadly receive just as many "thumbs down" but I produce documented proof!
Furthermore I will give you the results of the last J.D.Powers reliability study:
The most recentl study was of 2003 vehicles that had been on the road for 3 years. This study lists 37 manufacturers in order of the least problems to the most problems .
I'll list in their order (Best to Worst)
1 Lexus
2 mercury
3 buick
4 cadillac
5 toyota
6 acura
7 honda
8 jaguar
9 bmw
10 infinity
11 lincoln

30 isuzu

And lastly, I'm sure you'll have alot of praise for Foreign makes & people saying that American Auto's are cr@p, for that I will refer you to a couple of my other Factual Answers.

I work in a garage, I see mostly GM's running though the shop with all kinds of problems on all kinds of modles, I see a lot of Chrysler vans and not many of their cars or trucks, and I see a lot of Ford vans, but hardly any trucks and a few of their cars. I would defenatly say that Ford is equal to Dodge, but they are both better then GM. GM is going downhill fast because they use cheap parts and bad engineering.

"Better" is a relative term. Almost any car (or truck) is better than any other in certain respects. As far as manufacturing quality, I prefer Chrysler (Dodge) over GM (which is much "cheaper" in terms of quality) and Ford (which has an absolutely abyssmal quality control problem (in my experience, anyway).
Keep in mind that there is no "perfect" car and shop around until you find one that meets the majority of your needs and buy it. Good luck

No, GM is loosing ground but they are still #1.
Toyota and Ford are tied for second but Ford will be knocked to third by the end of February. Ford has more recalls than most cars and bad management has really damaged the company.

none of us will ever know the answer to that question. there are loyal customers for each and those that drive one but wouldnt be buried in the other. so to answer that question and get a true answer is impossible due to consumer opinion. if one was better than the other two the other two would more than likely stop production due to no sales however they are all about comparable pound for pound it just depends on the buyer and ones opinion.

If it were me I would take a Ford design, mate it to a GM drivetrain, and price it like a Mopar.

JD Power is a very incomplete way to assess overall quality and reliability.
Consumer Reports is much much more scientific for what it's worth.

Dodge and Chevy crush Ford. Fords are unreliable, and UGLY! Chevy is the classic American car, and I consider Dodge to be also. Ford=CRAP!
