Usually a woman is entering menopause by age 50, so
guess is your last child. Make the most of it and make every-
one treat you like a queen, which you are. One good thing
is that you will postpone menopause for quite some time now.
One obvious problem that the doctor has probably told you
about is Downes Syndrome. He will probably want to do an
amnio, but if you're healthy, there's no reason why you shouldn't have a healthy baby. Remember the OLD DAYS, (before
birth control)? Women kept having children as long as their
bodies were able. Please tell us when the baby is born!!

Wow! Two other people with mothers who were 45 when they were given birth... me too, mum was 45 when she had me, and she said it was the easiest of the three children she had...

Damn, wish I could help... of course, ask doctors about it, but I suppose what you're looking for is some kind of fellowship feeling... how about that famous doctor who was recently given IVF in Italy, I think she was about 60, or over, the oldest woman to receive IVF... see if you can track her down or stuff she's written, I bet that'd help. (So famous I can't remember her name! Bet the Yahoo answers community could find it for you though)

Go to www.babycenter.com its a great site and has chat rooms, you can get into a group of women that are your age and going through your expeirence. I found the site when I was PG with my 2nd baby and got into kind of a support group with a bunch of other women, it was truly great.

Best of luck!

my husband's mother had him when she was 46 and he hated it when he started growing up, she was not like today's women at that age but very old and conversative in her ways. By the time he reached his teens the generation gap was so massive between them he left home at 17 and never went back. It was a real 'when worlds collide'.
