Unless you can prove why your niece shouldn't be living there, you have no reason to even bother removing her from that home. My grandmother is much older than that, is legally blind and legally deaf, yet she babysits for my aunt all the time. I'd say mind your own business.

Your neice only has 3 years before she turns 18, why bother taking her away??? My grandmother, now 69, spent the last 18 years of her life raising her grandaughter ( my cousin ). Now that my cousin turned 18 she joined the marines and is doing very well. My grandma loved her like she was her own child, and I'm sure its the same in your situation.

You need to have permission from the niece's mother, first.
Then, you need to prove incompetincey.

If there is a social worker, you can drop them a line, and say you're concerned, but, if there's no abuse, or if she's not missing any school, there's not much you can do.

check with your local citezens advice beareau. even if you do get sustody of your neice, she will obviously have a strong relationship with her great grandmother so you will have to ensure this realtionship is kept up.

but if your neice is happy living with her great grandmother, there is no reason to remove her. she is no longer a young child, and can look after herself to a certain degree
