A bank teller told me once that a US bank cannot be closed more than 72 hours total because their safes are programmed that way. It is a security precaution designed to ensure that no one gets locked in the safe and to ensure that any sort of safe robbery does not go unnoticed for more than that amount of time.

I believe you're right. But they were open Saturday, so I guess they can close on Tuesday. We'll probably have to just wait till tomorrow and find out ourselves since there are mixed answers about the Ford observance.

i hope that is true, since they were not open on saturday in my state, i need to get money in there, and this is crazy!!!
