I've found this to be an interesting question for English-language speakers. We currently pronounce 2007 as "two-thousand seven", but will we change to "twenty ten" for 2010? Or will it remain as "two thousand ten"?
I much prefer the "twenty ten" pronunciation, but what do y'all think is the best option? Also, what do you think will become the norm, regardless of your personal choice?

EDIT: If you think "two thousand ten" is better, then what about by 2020? I think it would totally suck to call that "two thousand twenty" instead of "twenty twenty"

Well in Entertainment for atleast a hundred years they have pronounced anything over a decade more then 2000 as " Twenty" or "Twenty-One" or "Twenty-five"... etc.
So I suspect that our vocabularly will already be used to the "Twenty" and therefore pronounce things "Twenty".
This means " Twenty Ten".
"Twenty Ninety One" & "Twenty Ninety Nine" are used in books and movies. A Century from then it's " Twenty One Ninety One" & " Twenty One Ninety Nine".

In Australia we say 'and' in between. So at the moment, it is 'two thousand and seven'. 2010 will be 'two thousand and ten'.
I don't think it will change to twenty ten, otherwise wouldn't we already be saying 'twenty seven'?

i dont what all these poeple are on.
in 1907 it was Nineteen Hundred and Seven
in 1910 it was NIneteen Ten, not nineteen hundred and ten!
so
in 2007 it is Two thousand and Seven
in 2010 it is Twenty Ten
in 2562 it Twenty Five Sixty Two, not Two thousand, Five Hundred and Sixty Two

I'm going with 'two thousand ten'. In 2011, I'll switch to your way though, because the extra syllable will make it a mouthful.

I'm sure people will be saying both. I'll probably be saying "two thousand ten." But I can't say for sure. I'll let you know in 3 years.

twenty ten- it has 3 syllables instead of 4, it's just easier to say (to me).
