My friends compute hung on him. He tried to turn it off to no avail. Had to result in unplugging it. He plugged it in again and tried to turn it on. Three beeps came out and a No Video Input message came onscreen. Does this mean his HDD and Video Card is bad??

One long beep and two short beeps normally means an issue with the Video Adapter. Constant beeping relates to RAM. Normally the computer will not beep if there is a hard disk failure.

Beep codes vary from system to system. Try pulling the video adapter out and reseating it. Do the same with the RAM.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

Refer to pc manual different beep patterns infer different problems. In most of the case its due to loose fitting of RAM...(Did ur friend removed the RAM and refitted it?).
