Can your phone do things without a sim?

I remember before i had a phone which still let you play games without the sim. Now i have two motorolas which dont have sims. I would like if they at least showed time. All say is insert sim. Are there any special codes/hacks?

It depends on the phone, most phones now you have to have a sim in it. with out one you can do anything besides call 911. Most smart phones you can still use while there is no sim in side but you can still only call 911.

There really is no hack or anything you can do to bypass it. If you want to jsut play around with it, look for a used sim form the carrier of the phone on ebay and just stick it in there.
