Under certain circumstances. I know a fellow who is A-, his former wife is O-.
She gave birth to a child with type AB+ and still can't understand why he was unhappy about it.

Whenever I see a question such as this, I get the very frustrating feeling that some university or research lab will receive a multimillion dollar grant to find the answer.
I'll give you the answer for free - No, blood type does not effect personality. If the majority of criminals had the same blood type, for instance, it would be widely known.
A person with type A blood can donate blood to a person with type A or type AB. A person with type B blood can donate blood to a person with type B or type AB. A person with type AB blood can donate blood to a person with type AB only. A person with type O blood can donate to anyone.
Check out this web site to find out the percentages of people with your blood type:

Blood types indicate what kind of antigens there are in your blood. It promotes recognition when it comes to fighting diseases. Why are they different? The different types of blood promotes biodiversity in humans.
Blood types do affect who you give and donate blood to.
*A blood-types can only DONATE to other A blood-types and AB blood-types. A blood-types can only RECEIVE A blood-type or O blood-type.
*B blood types can only DONATE to other B blood-types and to AB blood-types. B blood-types can only RECEIVE B blood-type O blood-type.
*AB blood types can only DONATE to AB blood types. They cannot donate to A or B blood-types because the 2 separate antigens would conflict with each other and cause the blood to coagulate (a big no-no). AB blood-type is the universal RECEIVER because it can take all 3 blood-types without causing a fatal situation.
*O blood-type can DONATE to the above 3 blood types due to absense of antigens on the cell. However, it can only receive blood from O blood-types.
The RH factor (the negative - and positive + tacked onto the blood type) refers to the presence a certain protein.
"It is particularly important for expectant mothers to know their blood's Rh factor. Occasionally, a baby will inherit an Rh positive blood type from its father while the mother has an Rh negative blood type. The baby's life could be in great danger if the mother's Rh negative blood attacks the baby's Rh positive blood. If this happens, an exchange transfusion may save the baby's life. The baby's blood can be exchanged for new blood that matches the mother's."
Does blood-type affect personality? No, it's all psychological matters than concerns a part of your brain. A lot of things play into personality: how you are raised, the friends you hang out with, religion, etc. It's all about environmental factors that shapes how a person reacts to a situation and what kind of personality they have.

yeah, actually, i do...i never really thought about it until i came across the book "Eat Right 4 Your Type" by Dr. Peter d'Adamo. it is rather fascinating...According to the doc, your blood type not only determines personality traits, but what exercises are best for you, what foods you should and should not eat (because of enzymes each blood type produces). it is a wealth of food for thought for certain. i have not researched anything coming from the Japanese culture, but i wonder if there are similarities. So out of curiosity, is your blood type AB? 'cos mine is...i will have to check out that personality test on your blog...

The only way blood will affect personality is if it is oozing very fast from an open artery.
