-(3x -5) - -4x = 32

Can you please help me solve and CHECK this prob??

-(3x - 5) - -4x = 32

Distribute the - on the left (it's the same as multiplying by -1):

-3x + 5 - -4x = 32

And then subtracting -4x is the same as adding 4x:

-3x + 5 + 4x = 32

Combine and simplify:

x + 5 = 32
x + 5 - 5 = 32 - 5
x = 27
