I am appauled by the number of people who haved died because of the war in Iraq and I don't think we know the full story of the reason behind the war. They did go against the UN and this is what people find so disturbing. But I decided to look up all the things Saddam actually did and what I read was absolutely shocking, he would order the beheading of women, accused of prostitution, and display their heads by signs saying 'For the honour of Iraq' I would compare Saddam to Hitler or Stalin. So at the end of the day I think we were right to invade Iraq. I know it was at the expense of half a million people but reading the articles that I have it wouldn't surprise me if Saddam murdered and tortured even more. I don't like the fact that we armed him back in the 80's while he was at war with Iran, maybe that's why alot of people find The us/uk government so hypocritical. Read my link to see what Saddam actually did

I'm sorry if everyone is a little bit bored of the whole Saddam debate! I just wanted to say that my views are changing on this. A person who did things like this in his own country shouldn't of been able to get away with it for so long. What if we let Hitler continue to torture and murder.

It may be made up, I guess I'll never know. I'm just confused all the time. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live in Iraq. I don't know!

ainmo I'm sure prostitution is the biggest sin, but tthey were accused, not found guilty. They were beheaded infront of their families and I'm sure if someone was executed there was no need for their heads to be put on display. Saddam forced kids into fighting in the army and the training included cruelty to animals and if there families objected to their children being made to do such things they would be tortured or executed. This was all on a bbc site so I'm guessing they don't just lie about things. I've heared that some american news stations are biased buit I don't think the bbc is. If you read the link it will show you. Hitler did many things like Saddam did, but even he was a veggie and not into animal cruelty lol. Saddam ordered many executions of people he wanted to get out of the way to further his military and political career. He would execute anybody who was from a different religion or political party.

Flintrob I know he's dead! lol...but we could all say get over anything that happened in the past, people still want to learn about it though. If we didn't we would all be very ignorant.

i agree 100%. and i dont believe we will know the real reason why the US/UK went into Iraq for another 20 years or so. If it was just for WMD's i dont think the US would have invaded so fast and the way they did, but thats just my opinion.

If saddam beheaded alot of ppl it was 4 a reason like u said he beheaded women who were accused of prostitution(biggest sin) he has the right 2 behead them n any arabic leader hu nos his religion will do the same he had the guts 2 do so many other things tht other leaders were afraid 2 do n i respect him 4 tht...bush decided 2 invade iraq 4 petrol n cos saddam wasnt anymore followin their path. Saddam is a very strong arab leader hu wasnt afraid of death he stood up 4 his country n ppl but his ppl betrayed him n they deserve wats happenin 2 them rite now, even after he died they started dancin arnd his body n beatin him they didnt have the guts 2 do tht wen he was alive...may bush burn in hell n may saddam rest in peace!

The enemy of my enemy is my pal. look on the time line. JAN seventy 9...Shah of Iran over thrown, JUL seventy 9....Saddam takes skill in Iraq. Nov seventy 9....Hostages taken in Iran. Dec seventy 9..u.s. invades Afghanistan. summer 1980 Iraq attacks Iran. america helped Iraq as a way of having lower back at Iran. yet we extremely did not desire Iraq to win both so we secretly helped Iran. (have self assurance it or not, Israel helped Iran also.) by helping both aspect, the warfare dragged on for 8 years and neither had the potential to reason issues elsewhere.. once the warfare ended, they began meddling in different countries. What we'd want to consistently have performed is supply each a nuke and the potential to furnish it to the capital city of the different. imagine what number issues that could want to have solved.

I think you are a very sensitive and nice person for at least caring unlikely of some other people on here, unfortunatly in islamic countries thats the law its not Saddams law only, its obviously terrible, but i don't see why would any other country should go to another country and question their laws, i think that brought Iraqies more unhappiness, I wouldn't like that done to my country...

Has it occurred to you that a lot of what you have read is made up stuff to justify the events in Iraq today?
