To be honest there is none. To keep it running like new all the time, Burn to CD all important files always, That is number one.
Then about once a month or two format the hard drive and reinstall all the drivers and it will run like new. These programs do not work as they claim. Nothing is better then a nice clean Hard drive. Heck you do not even need bunk like AVG or any crap that bogs down your system. Look at your system resources to see what programs are bogging down your system. How much ram do they use. and ask your self Do I really need it?
Hope this helps ya
Happy new year

Installing software to fix your computer problems usually creates problems. Messing with the registry in any way, shape, or form is not recommended unless you really know what you are doing. People that install software to clean up their computer or fix problems do so because they don't know how to fix the problem themselves. If you don't know what something is than leave it alone. A program will guess what you need or don't need which can cause alot of problems and lost Data in the long run.
What I do is store all of my personal data on a separate Hard Drive, and every few months or when my PC starts acting up, I reinstall Windows. No matter how much you know about computers it is recommended to do a fresh install periodically. It is impossible to catch all the changes made through months or years of use.

One program that I like to use is TuneUp Utilities 2006. There is a 30-day free trial offered for it, and I find that it works extremely well. It offers many different things that you can use to help customize and clean up your computer, such as a disk cleaner, registry cleaner, memory optimizer, registry defragmentation, registry editor, undelete manager, and a file shredder that completely and safely deletes things from your computer.
I am always very cautious about downloading programs, as there are many programs out there that are not really what they claim to be, and end up being some spyware junk or a virus. This is a very legitimate program, as it is one that you could go out and buy, not just one that claims to be a disk cleaner which you download from some random site.
