men do not usually get bladder infections...AND, antibiotics are nor for everything, either...he needs to have his urine cultured for bacteria, yeast, and protozoa. and you need to have your urine cultured to check for infection...you may need a pelvic with cultures to make sure that your normal vaginal flora hasn't changes and he could have received that from you...
concentrated urine (from not drinking enough fluids will cause pain with urination)..
good luck
of course, since he is on antibiotics now, I would wait 10 days before culturing his urine (because even the antibiotics suppress the good guys also, and some antibiotics are so powerful that they suppress the immune system and actually let some bacteria take over (super infection)

If you both are serious about being faithful (which means no STD) the only thing I could think of would be a much more serious infection either in a kidney or prostate etc. I would recommend going back to a doctor, because as you have said the pain shouldn't be quite as intense after 4 days of treatment.

I'm a nurse. Either the medication has no effect or it's something else going on, go back to the doctor. Are you taking medication as well? A yeast infection both ways could also be the reason for this. See the doctor for another prescription and/or additional care.

get him back to the dr. asap. have the dr. give him extensive tests. could be a kidney infection. it may his prostate gland. a lot of these symptons can be cured. get a second dr. and see what he says. your husband can't go on like this. also a different antibiotic may do the trick.the one he's on, should have helped him before 4 days. sorry he's going thru this. it's very painful. he might need a pain pill, too. mine, when i had, the right meds helped greatly.!
take care happy new year and get well soon!

It could be a bladder infection or a urinary tract infection. I would have him go into the doctor right away. It could also be that his body is producing too much ammonia. This usually happens if he's not drinking nearly enough water. Too much ammonia can sting a lot. Hope this helps!

Could be a kidney stone, does his back hurt too>?
Get him some cranberry juice and make him eat lots of tomatoes or pumkin seeds which is good for a man's prostate.

Hemorrhoids are associated with constipation and straining at bowel movements. How to get rid of hemorrhoids https://tr.im/0uUKA
Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.
