To begin with, get down on your knees and thank God that your have parents that are able to give you a car for your 16th birthday. If you were my kid, you would have a job and buy your own car and pay the insurance. Go ask your parents how much their insurance premiums are going up just by adding you on. No 16 year old needs a high powered sports car! A volkswagon or a Toyota would do nicely and not cost half as much, then when you get a job and are able to pay for it, you could trade up.

You are very fortunate and it sounds like a bit spoiled. Do you have any idea of the price of the first couple cars you mentioned? I would suggest you sit down with dad and discuss what you really should spend. Determine how much the insurance is going to cost. A "young" hot convertible will be very expensive to insure. I have always been of the philosophy that you appreciate things more when you have to work for them. I hope your dad gives you some responsibilities which you must meet in order to keep the car. You might consider a used Honda or Toyota for the first year so you can learn how to drive well and learn the responsibilities of car ownership. I know you don't expect to wreck your first car but statistics show that 16 year old drives have many accidents. Good luck. Try using a spell checker it will help us understand your questions.

If you did not earn the car on your own efforts and labor, then it is your dads car, and he can give you what he can afford and you just go by the choices he makes. (eg Choose between the Honda and the Toyota)

If you earned this on your own, then the feeling is completely different. Nothing in the world can beat it, even if it is junky looking. You would be so darn proud to drive it.
Get the choosing of the car over and done with. If you are kind to your parents, choose a hybrid to help with the gas expenses.
If you are a student, choose one easy to park.

A car that is reasonable. That the insurance will not be too much...sports cars and boys mean high insurance premiums and anything can happen to the income...it may be you paying for that before you know it. So, get a nice car that doesn't cost a fortune to fix, when that day comes and you have to pay for repairs...sports cars cost more there too, so. Just think it through and be reasonable and be grateful and not take advantage just because you can. Good luck. Congratulations. Lucky you.

I think Toyotas and Hondas are probably the best bet cars you could get. I think the budget your father has set for you is really extreme for a sixteen year old's first car. You should consider yourself very lucky that your parents are able to afford that for you. I couldn't afford that for my daughter. All we could do was pass down my Toyota Rav4 to her when she was 15 now she's traded that in on a 06 Nissan Altima for her to go to college, but she has to pay for that & we have to pay for her insurance. I think you should look at the Camarys and Accords and check with your insurance company because teens are very expensive to insure. Another thing, I think you need to thank God everyday that your parents are able to purchase a nice new vehicle for you. I wish I could do that for my children. You are very blessed. Happy New Year.

you're very fortunate and it sounds like slightly spoiled. Do you have any theory of the value of the 1st couple vehicles you reported? i could propose you take a seat with dad and talk what you extremely could spend. verify how plenty the coverage is going to value. A "youthful" warm convertible would be very high priced to insure. I surely have continually been of the philosophy which you relish issues extra once you're able to desire to paintings for them. i'm hoping your dad delivers some familiar jobs which you're able to desire to fulfill so as to maintain the vehicle. you're able to evaluate a used Honda or Toyota for the 1st 3 hundred and sixty 5 days so which you will locate out a thank you to rigidity properly and learn the familiar jobs of motor vehicle possession. i understand you do no longer assume to smash your first motor vehicle yet information instruct that sixteen 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous drives have many injuries. stable success. try utilising a spell checker it is going to help us understand your questions.
