Why is it so easy for us, Yahoo! Answerers, to pass judgement on everyone who brings their issues to the site? You have fat people giving out diet tips, adulterers telling the importance of integrity in relationships, and parents who would kill their daughter for bringing a black man home saying that racism is bad. Is it that we Americans get off on seeing other peoples' problems to make us feel better about ourselves?

Let's see some intelligent and thoughtful answers. Happy New Year!

My point is that we're all hypocrites. Just like you were quick to say how wrong I was to post that information and then come back saying that you did "such and such" but you did it the correct way. Good for you and your weight loss and your integrity. God bless.

The truth is that it makes them look like someone who is mean and who has issues of their own .
We tend to see in others the flaws we ourselves have .

You yourself are judging by saying "[We] have fat people giving out diet tips, adulterers telling the importance of integrity in relationships, and parents who would kill their daughter for bringing a black man home saying that racism is bad. " How do you know all of that? That is a judgment. I have given some diet tips. I used to be fat, but I'm not now and I've told people what I did to lose and keep off the weight. Also, I have never been unfaithful in a relationship. I can't say anything about the parent thing since I don't have children.

Its easy to hide behind a computer.
Its those that would speak their mind in public face to face that are worth listening to.
Otherwise, we're all here to type what we think, and let the world judge what we have posted.
As for your question on 'seeing others problems' I dont think it makes us feel better, but it makes us feel better to think we might be able to help. Everyone wants to feel needed.
But I'm Canadian, and your question is directed at Americans.. sorry bout that. ;-)
