confident is OK, but overly....nah!
very shy is often times another side of "too proud."
may I choose a "confident but shy" woman?

well I think this goes for men or women - there is nothing wrong with confident but overly confident is extremely annoying - I sure don't want to be around someone who knows everything all of the time - would rather share time with someone who is more shy and willing to learn/explore situations with me
