Because the Democrats want all individuals to have a job that will pay the bills. Whereas the Republicans feel this can be done by supplying corporate welfare which will eventually trickle down to the workers (whether here or overseas).

Yes,Our government must no longer curry favor with corporate giants and big business at the expense of working families. This government must now address job security, pensions, universal health care and public education. We must turn our attention to public school education in a constructive and forthright way. I call upon Congress to fully fund and fix the failed No Child Left Behind act when it comes up for renewal in 2007. For this law to work, the previously disregarded input and voices of public school leaders, who direct the delivery of education every day, must be heard and considered in a meaningful way.

Voters said “No” to the Republican Party for turning its back on the middle class. Too many hard-working Americans are struggling to get by, and not getting one bit of help from the politicians elected to serve them.…I’ll say this for President Bush. He finally showed he can be a “uniter, not a divider.” He united this country against his wrong-headed policies by dividing America into the haves and the have-nots.

The House of Labor helped elect many strong, pro-worker leaders in November. And we are going to hold them to their campaign promises to safeguard public pensions, fund essential services and defend workers rights. There will not be a repeat of Katrina on this government’s watch. There will not be serial neglect of our first responders. There will not be massive rollbacks of collective bargaining rights and workplace protections.

What a blatant exaggeration, get real, you know this only happens to people who let it happen to themselves. You want to make some good money? You had better be a formally recognized citizen who is ready to bust his ***.
