Does the Official SAT Study Guide book really increase student's SAT scores greatly if a student studies a lot? On average, how many points does a student raise if he/she studies the book and has already taken the SAT test before?

I'm not sure how many points the book will raise your score, but the practice will help. I taught an SAT prep course and we used the book. The students ended up doing four full tests over the course of the class, and many students increased their scores over 100 points. I would try it but do it under timed conditions, so you get used to working under pressure. Also, read the information they give you in the sections where they explain the different types of questions. They give a lot of great hints in the book. It's also helpful to read and know the instructions well so that way when you get to the test you waste less time reading instructions. The way I see it is practice is better than nothing so give it a try!

it should. actually, any study material will increase your score if you really really study. i don't know how many points it can raise you, but... if you're only gonna get one book, get that one. if you want more, get barron's if you like to be overprepared, and princeton if you just want a confidence booster. so yes, that book is good.

a friend of mine got a 2360 w/ that book.... but then again she's a genius and studied like mad. but i think if you study the book'll definitely help you.
