K is for kilo or one thousand. B is for bytes. Bytes are an octet of binary bits (usually represented as 1s and 0s). A byte is used to generate a letter, space, punctuation mark, etc. In short each individual element of a text message.

Note: Your question used a capital B. A lower case b would indicate bits.

K=kilo = Multiplied by a thousand
as in kilometer and kilogram

B=byte = Unit of data storage
used in computers and cell phones to say how "big" a
letter, song or picture may be, for example

The letter x = 1 byte
The number 500 = 2 bytes
The number 241.105 = 4 bytes
eminem- "just loose it" (mp3 song) = 472000000 bytes

/s =per second
How fast the data moves from your phone to wherever.
as in kilometers per second (km/s)

kb/s= How many thousand bytes of data travel from your phone to
wherever in 1 second.

They use this information to calculate your bill.
