Hes not a fancy type of person but knowing that i got it for him, he'd love it and would where it everyday ..At age 17, I kno my family up north would b in awe, due to what ive done for them...I got all my family gifts that i will be seeing tomoro, but not him... I couldnt spend xmas with my fam. due to work, so im seeing them after, jan 2- to the 7th.. Can i get some help as to why i have nothing for him?? First off let me say you are quite an extrodinary lady at 17. Your parents should be soo proud of you and they will continue to be so please be honest with them. I can tell that they have instilled CHARACTER in your and I believe that in the long run you will feel worse about lying (as you will have to keep telling more lies to cover up the original one)
I think that you should file a police report about the 'lost money' (you can claim it on your taxes too) and then show him the report. I would tell him what happened. I am sure he would feel better about THAT then you saying that you lost his gift.
IS there anyway that you could get it for him at a later date. Possibly get it engraved. (something like "my love for you is timeless') and tell him that the engraving took a little longer than you thought. YOu still have a few days. Is it possible you could get a loan from another friend or family member and get a slightly cheaper watch or other gift. I think that if you show up with NOTHING for him, you will feel way worse than if you tell him the truth and have the police report to back it up.
Since your parents know the kind of person you are they would see thru your lie anyway. Give your dad a chance to know that this was not fault of your own and that you love him. Xmas is not just about the gifts. I bet your dad will pleased just to see that you are becoming everything that he had hoped for.
GOOD LUCK!

Don't say you left it in Fla, because then you would have to send it to him as soon as you got home and you won't have enough money yet, so you will have lied about a Christmas present which is pretty low. Can you do something cheap or free? Can you make him up a gift card for 2 hours of labor, like cleaning out the garage with him, or give him a card for a lunch out with you? You could pick an inexpensive restaurant and the "gift" would be you two spending some time alone. He'd like time with you the best anyway.

Contact the store immediately where you purchased the gift card. They may be able to cancel the old card and reissue a new one. Hopefully, the receipt for the card was not in the wallet. I would tell your father the truth and hopefully he will understand.

You have a Dad that wants something from your heart. It can be anything. A rock, a plain old everyday rock if he knows it came from you're heart. You have had pictures taken all year. Give him one from your heart. Write a poem, write a story. A commercial thing is nothing if he can buy his own, but something from your heart is priceless and means so much more.

wow that sucks. sorry. maybe you could print out a pic of it and wrap that and when he opens it tell him that's what you were planning on getting and tell him you forgot it/lost it/whatever and that you'll get him a present as soon as you can? but he's your dad right? he shouldn't be too upset so maybe he won't even miss getting a present as long as you are there. hope everything works out! happy new year!

Tell him the truth, he'll appreciate your honesty. Tell him you will send his present as soon as you can when you get the bucks back or earn it again.

Tell him you wanted to give him time and do things for him because he is too special just to buy something silly.
